Renovations and additions Scarsdale, New York 2002

This project involves a significant addition and renovation to an existing Dutch Colonial residence, along with a new pool and pool house with extensive sitework to 3 acres of park-like landscape. Exterior details and materials are replicated from the original house.

The interiors feature extensive custom cabinetry and millwork including paneled and beamed family room, mahogany master bathroom and custom kitchen all produced by Brenner Builders Millshop. Fieldstone collected from laborious site preparation was used to construct retaining walls, front boundary walls and entry piers.

Some special features include:

  • Crestron controlled “smart house” allows the homeowners to operate and integrate the mechanical systems, phone system, lighting, audio/visual systems, pool and spa, and the security systems from strategically installed touch pads or remote control device.

  • A fourteen foot floor to floor height from the basement to the first floor allows for the mechanical systems to be easily accessed from a wood paneled basement ceiling with a 10 foot height.

  • The media room features a ceiling mounted projector illuminating a 110" screen for viewing while you are enveloped by a state of the art surround sound system. Sophisticated sound proofing techniques and materials allow others in the residence to enjoy their private spaces during media room use.

  • Enamelled lavastone, honed absolute granite, carrara marble, and cherry butcher block tastefully grace the countertops of the kitchen, breakfast room, and butlers pantry.

  • Three computer controlled boilers provide radiant heat for all tiled floors, hydro-air in the living spaces, domestic hot water, and pool & spa heat during the summer months.
