The owners of this 1928 Tudor home wanted to create functional spaces for their family. Keeping true to the magnificent original details was of paramount importance in the planning and building of the new spaces. Situated at the back of the house and adjacent to the kitchen, the addition was designed to provide a visual connection between the kitchen and family room, as well as create a convenient family entry sequence from the driveway.

The new space consists of a family room, informal entry foyer, family closets, and entry porch on the first floor and a playroom and full bath on the basement level. Custom milled mahogany leaded glass windows & doors, mahogany arched panels and millwork surround the family room.The room is oriented so that the classic stone fireplace and chimney is centered on the18-foor high timbered truss cathedral ceiling and a double story gable end opposite. In keeping with the existing detailing, the floor is random width pegged oak.

Radiant heat warms the hand made ceramic floor of the entry and closet area. All doors are custom milled mahogany to match the original doors of the home.The exterior is brick and stucco with hand hewed oak beams.The roof is reclaimed Leutivicci tile.
