This multi-phase restoration and expansion of a 1920’s Georgian
created a home that is now 8000 square feet in size, and has
6 bedrooms and 6 baths. A new pool and a 1000 square foot pool house were
added during one of the renovation phases. The owner cared deeply about
quality of materials, and many parts of the home feature custom-made details:
- The kitchen, butler’s pantry, and breakfast room, feature a beautiful
blend of cherry and field painted cabinets, enameled lava stone counters, a
tin ceiling, and a limestone floor.
- The family room is a particular delight with a concentric cherry floor with a beamed pyramid ceiling and cupola to enhance the look and the light in the room.
- The exquisitely restored sunroom has a domed plaster ceiling and textured walls and refurbished door and window hardware to restore it to the look of the original time.
- Throughout, ornamental and structural repair was necessary to bring the home back to its original state.
- The pool house features milled mahogany doors and specialty hardware to meet the homeowner's standard of beauty as well as stringent local pool enclosure codes.
- In order to match the original exterior brickwork, it was necessary to custom-make
the ornamental and veneer brick.
- And the final touch for landscaping involved the use of reclaimed stone.
